On Thursday 9th November 2017, Indy founder Danielle hosted a talk for guests at the FSB’s monthly Female Entrepreneur’s Meetup.

The event, which took place at Acanteen in Chelmsford, was a sell-out and was attended by an interesting mix of businesswomen from the Essex area.

Danielle’s presentation was titled What Does it Mean to be a Woman in Business. After a brief brainstorm about women’s stereotypical traits, and how they are often conveyed in the workplace (rightly or wrongly!), the discussion was opened up to the group, who diligently explored a range of themes. There were impassioned opinions on all kinds of topics, from the role of both men and women in the workplace through to the challenges we face in introducing gender equality and, of course, how we can best manage our work and family lives.

It’s a topic that’s close to our heart here at Indy, and we’d love to get your feedback on what it means to be a woman in today’s economy. Feel free to share your ideas via Twitter (tagging @IndyConsultancy), or better still, drop us an email to start the conversation.

Many thanks to Angela Lock from the FSB and Seena Shah from Splash Creative London for putting on a fantastic networking opportunity. It’s great to finally see these kinds of meet-ups in Essex.

We can’t wait for the next event!
